NEW FIND!! Gorgeous specimen of Beryl var. Emerald on Quartz matrix!
These amazing specimens came to market during the Denver Show and I was impressed
with what I saw. They have great Emerald color, being colored by Chromium like their
Colombian cousins, and most were 3 cms up and larger - some as large as 8 cm!
This cute miniature is perfectly terminated with a pretty green coloration. The crystal
is flanked by a second crystal on the backside and measures 3 cm above the Quartz.

From the Kagem Emerald Mine, Kafubu Mining District, Copperbelt Province, Zambia.
Measures 5.3 cm by 4 cm in size.

MIN#Beryl-3 NEW!

Incredible crystal of bi-colored Aquamarine sitting atop fine Albite crystals!
I LOVE this specimen! The Aquamarine crystal is complete and perfectly terminated with
a smooth, flat-top termination. The surfaces are striated and lustrous and covered with
a very light matting that makes them sparkle! The color is tremendous, beginning with a
breathtaking sky-blue at the base which abruptly changes over to a darker, deeper blue
which extends upwards toward the top. This 4 cm by 3.2 cm Aqua crystal sits atop stark white
Albite which are accented by small crystals of Muscovite and what appears to be Clinochlore.
There is a small restoration on the backside where a crack was professionally filled to make it
virtually invisible to the naked eye. It's so well done that it doesn't even appear in the photo.

From the Shigar Valley, Northern Areas, Baltistan, Skardu District, Pakistan.
Measures 5.8 cm by 6.7 cm by 5.5 cm in size.

MIN#Beryl-4 NEW!

Exceptional combination of reddish-pink Fluorite crystals with Aquamarines on Muscovite!
I almost never see quality pink Fluorites from Pakistan on the market anymore. The really
good Fluorites came out years ago and have long since disappeared into private collections.
I was thrilled to see this piece at the Denver Show and the combination of Aquamarine
was an added bonus! The pink Fluorites above both measure around 5 cm in size and exhibit a
rich coloration to go along with the typical irregular and modified surfaces. I count three blue
Aquamarines to the lower left and this specimen could easily be displayed from either side.
I really like the display in the above photo but a horizontal Fluorite display is also great!

From the Haramosh Mountains, Baltistan, Northern Areas of Pakistan.
Measures 10 cm by 8.4 cm in size.

MIN#Beryl-6 NEW!

VERY RARE!! Amazing combination of Morganite with Pollucite and Tourmaline!
I can count the number of large Beryl-Pollucite pieces I've seen in the past decade on one hand.
I can't recall ever seeing another Morganite-Pollucite specimen, especially one with green
Tourmaline! This amazing specimen also contains Smoky Quartz, Lepidolite, and Cleavelandite,
which I might add has a bluish tint to the otherwise colorless blades. There is practically no
damage here and the crystals are complete and well formed. The Pollucite measures 6.5 cm in
size while the 4.1 cm Morganite is a pastel orangy-pink. A very rare cabinet sized specimen!

From Paprok, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan.

RARE AND UNIQUE EMERALD SPECIMEN!!!
Possibly, the only Emerald specimen ever discovered twice! The history of this specimen is pretty amazing
and could easily be the subject of a magazine article! The specimen was originally mined in the early 1700's
by Spanish explorers in Colombia. Oddly enough, when the specimen was discovered in the mine, the
crystals weren't removed from the matrix as all Emeralds were in those days. The Spanish owner of the
piece apparently felt the crystals looked better on the host rock, perhaps making him one of the first
mineral collectors. It's also possible that this was a presentation piece for the King. Whatever the reason,
the specimen was taken aboard the Capitana (flag ship) El Rubí for journey to Spain in 1733 along with many
other valuables from South America. Unfortunately, the ship sailed into a hurricane and became grounded
just inside the reef line northeast of Upper Matecumbe Key in the Florida Keys. Since the ship had been
taking on water prior to being grounded, most escaped and there was very little loss of life. Afterwards,
the Commander of the fleet, General Rodrigo de Torres, ordered that the survivors build two forts on Upper
Matecumbe Key to guard the King's treasure. They were able to salvage most of the bullion and other
valuables from the shipwreck but this Emerald specimen and seven boxes of coins and copper eluded them.
Now jump ahead 205 years to the year 1938. In was in that year that fisherman Reggie Roberts took diver
Art McKee to the shipwreck site located in 27 feet of water. The remains of the El Rubí was one of the
first of the 1733 fleet to be rediscovered in modern times and McKee worked the site for over a decade,
removing coins, jewelry, cannon, religious artifacts, navigational instruments, and this beautiful green
Emerald specimen. He kept the specimen in his collection for the duration of his life and it was only
recently sold by his family. The specimen itself is impressive with its two glassy green Emerald crystals,
one measuring 1.6 cm and the other 3.0 cm in size. Small Pyrite crystals accent the matrix near the
Emeralds. Even more impressive is the story and history behind the specimen. It may truely be the
only mineral specimen that's ever been discovered twice - once on land and once in the sea!

From Muzo, Colombia (Circa early 1700) - to the Capitana (flag ship) El Rubí (1733)
Measures 3.5 cm by 5 cm by 4.2 cm in size. Weight exceeds 50 carats.

Fine doubly terminated crystal of Beryl var. Aquamarine with Albite!
This beautiful specimen exhibits a misty-blue, almost cat's-eye appearance in the

it appears that a smaller, translucent Aquamarine crystal was overgrown by a larger,
more transparent crystal creating one heck of a phantom in the middle and at the top!

MIN#Beryl-14 NEW!

EXCEPTIONAL!!! Extraordinary cluster of Beryl var. Emerald crystals with Rutile!
Rarely does one fine such a large, aesthetic specimen of Emerald from North Carolina!
I've seen better specimens from the Rist Mine but they are all in museums or carry a
huge price tag. I was VERY fortunate to come across this specimen while in Tucson.
Not only is it aesthetic but it is dramatic. The crystals are all complete and either
terminated or rehealed on the terminations. There are no incomplete crystals here.
The fat Emerald crystal at the bottom sits on a small amount of Calcite matrix and
is accented by lustrous Rutiles around the base. It rises some 3.5 cm until it finds
an incredible 7 cm Emerald, which angles upwards and intersects with a smaller
3.3 cm Emerald which lends support to the entire arrangement. Both crystals are
incredibly smooth for a North Carolina specimen (usually etched) and are quite
gemmy with excellent color. The 7 cm crystal also has a facet-like termination
at top! There is one repair on the this crystal but it is literally invisible and I
challenge anyone to find it. I know where the crystal was professionally put back
together and even I can't see a line using a 10x loupe. Apparently the largest
Emerald naturally came apart in the pocket due to its size. This is a common
occurance with large gem crystals and in no way detracts from the specimen.
From the North American Emerald Mine (Rist Mine), Hiddenite, North Carolina.
Measures 7.8 cm by 5.5 cm in total size.

Glassy crystals of bi-colored Aqua-Heliodor!
Both crystals are superbly gemmy, glassy, and terminated with a vibrant color that glows under lighting!
This is one of the deepest colored bi-color Beryls I've seen in a very long time and the lack of any serious
etching makes the specimen even more special. Definately gem cutting material but why would anyone do that?

Pretty specimen of bi-color Aquamarine-Goshenite with Schorl on Microcline!
I've seen some Aqua-Morganites from here but this is the first Aqua-Goshenite I've

mix of Schorl crystals in various sizes. The Beryls could best be described as a 50/50
split, with the bottom half being Goshenite and the upper half blue Aquamarine.

EXCEPTIONAL! A large doubly terminated Aquamarine crystal atop Muscovite!
I think the photo speaks for itself but here are the particulars on this stunning specimen.
The Aquamarine is a deep sky blue with super glassy surfaces and perfect terminations
at both ends. It measures 6.7 cm in length with two smaller crystals attached to the backside
which bring the total length to 7.5 cm. The matrix ranges from large Muscovite on the backside
to smaller blades of Muscovite on the front. Actually, the specimen could be displayed from
either side but this is the presentation that I prefer. I might also point out that the tips of
the Aqua are crystal-clear gem and can be seen through all the way to the matrix.
