Full of Great NEW Specimens From the Elmwood Mine!

Taking a look inside one of the many crystal pockets in the Elmwood Mine!
Huge golden Calcites line the cavity along side creamy Barite blooms, shiny
Sphalerite crystals, and lavander Fluorites. It's a virtual dream world of color.

Here you can see some of the tools of removal. Styrofoam boards cushion the fall
of large crystals while rags further insulate the clusters and points from damage
during the haul to the surface. These pockets can get rather narrow and working
in such tight quarters can be claustrophobic but the gorgeous mix of minerals
makes the job well worth it. That's what makes Elmwood such a classic locality.

And here's the end result of all that work and effort. Gorgeous mineral
combination specimens that only the Elmwood mine can offer! Lustrous
black Sphalerite hosting bluish-purple Fluorite cubes, golden Calcites,
and a huge creamy Barite bloom smothering the Fluorites underneath.

for these classic combination specimens of Fluorite, Sphalerite, and Barite but attractive specimens

crystals which are complete with very little in the way of "chatter". The beautiful Barite clusters
and shiny, reddish-brown Sphalerite crystals complete the specimen with an attractive balance!

Absolutely gorgeous example of Elmwood mineralization! The cubes are so gem that I
can see through them all the way down to the Sphalerite matrix. The color is also very

lighting. There are patches of sparkling drusy scattered atop and between the crystals.

The crystal is fully transparent at the tips and translucent in the middle. It is doubly
terminated with only a tiny cleave at the left side tip. The color is a deep golden.

Gorgeous cabinet plate featuring large, gemmy reddish-purple Fluorites with Sphalerite!
Both are sitting atop a Dolomite covered matrix. The specimen is in great condition overall,
with very few contacts. The Fluorites are very transparent and exhibit just a touch of red
in their purple coloration which really makes the plate glow under all forms of lighting.
The backside of the plate is pure Dolomite on drusy and sparkles like crazy.

Exceptional Golden Calcite crystal on Barite!
Large, gemmy Golden Calcite crystal displaying two perfect terminations as it sits atop
a mound of white Barite. A smaller Calcite sits atop the Barite on the back side but the
main focus is the 14 cm Calcite which is about as perfect a crystal as you will find from
the Elmwood Mine. Both terminations are all there and the only flaw that I can find is
some very tiny chips on the left termination that you need a 10X loupe to see. The crystal is
glassy and transparent throughout and Calcites of this quality are difficult to find these days.
