This is the only specimen of Rhodochrosite from the Himmelsfurst Mine in Saxony,
Germany that I've seen! I also checked the entire internet and can't find another specimen
there either. Rhodochrosite is known from the Himmelsfurst but the locality is much better

This specimen almost looks like Sweet Home material but it's actually from the American
Tunnel, Sunnyside Mine, near Gladstone, San Juan County, Colorado! The large rhomb
measures 2.5 cm from tip to tip and boasts some of the best color the Sunnyside had

Large GEMMY red rhomb of Rhodochrosite with Quartz!
Also some smaller rhombs to the left. This big rhomb measures over 3 cm
from tip to tip and glows with color and internal gemminess! There is a slight
area of attachment on the right corner where the rhomb was touching another
crystal at one time but it doesn't detract from the impressive and beauty of
the large crystal in the least. A crystal of this color, gemminess, and size would
cost four to five thousand dollars without the small area of attachment. This one is
